How TrackScope works, what to do when something fails, and how to reach us.
Getting started
- Import a track from Files: TrackScope keeps a reference to the file you choose, not a copy.
- Supported formats: AAC, AIF, AIFF, CAF, FLAC, M4A, MP3 and WAV.
- TrackScope reads the file metadata: title, artist, duration and filename.
Analysis
- Long tracks can take a while.
- The app shows elapsed time, not an invented percentage.
- Closing the app during an analysis cancels it.
- A cancelled analysis does not save partial results.
Playback and missing files
- If the original file is no longer available, the analysis stays in your library.
- Use “Choose File Again” to point TrackScope back at the audio and restore playback.
- Playback can continue with the screen locked.
Library and local data
- Deleting a track deletes its analysis, its lyrics and its notes.
- Re-analyzing a track, or deleting only its results, keeps its lyrics and notes.
- “Delete all analyses” keeps your tracks and never touches the original files.
- Uninstalling the app removes all of its local content.
- The library is not synchronized with iCloud.
Purchases
- Free: three full welcome analyses, then one per calendar week (they do not accumulate), and a library of up to three tracks.
- Pro: unlimited analyses and library, JSON export of the results, and creating and editing lyrics, timings and notes.
- In Settings → Your plan you can see your remaining welcome analyses or when your next free analysis will be available.
- Monthly and Yearly subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you manage and cancel them from your Apple account.
- Lifetime is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
- Restore Purchases is available inside the app. It recovers the access you bought, not deleted local files or annotations.
- There is no free trial of Pro and no web checkout.
- Refunds are handled by Apple; we cannot process them from this website.
Lyrics and notes
- Lyrics are yours: paste, save and edit them in the track. TrackScope does not search for, generate or transcribe lyrics.
- Mark line timings while the song plays. When local timing suggestions are available you can use them, then complete or correct them by hand.
- Suggestions may be missing or incomplete; you can always mark every line manually.
- Notes belong to the song as a whole. A timestamp is optional, and a timed note can jump to that moment when the audio file is available.
- Saved lyrics and notes can be read even if the original audio is no longer available.
- Creating or editing lyrics, timings and notes requires Pro. Without Pro, saved content stays and can be viewed and deleted.
- Lyrics, timings and notes are not included in the JSON export.
Troubleshooting
- Unsupported file: check that the format is one of AAC, AIF, AIFF, CAF, FLAC, M4A, MP3 or WAV.
- Damaged file: try playing it in another app to confirm the audio is readable.
- File unavailable: use “Choose File Again” to reconnect the audio.
- Purchases temporarily unavailable: the App Store may not be reachable; try again later.
- Export failed: try exporting again, or choose a different destination in the Share Sheet.
